Although renowned as a poet and dramatist Goethe was also a tireless experimenter. Amongst other things he was an outstanding botanist, pioneer of comparative anatomy and creator of a controversial colour theory.His world is dynamic and one seen in holistic splendour.

 In this multi-media presentation Cliff Gorman will begin with a short introduction to Goethe's early formative years and then describe the remarkable way that Goethe observed the natural world. The presentation will include demonstrations of some of Goethe's experiments.
