Systems, Actions and Processes 1965–1975

English translation below Spanish text.
Sistemas, Acciones y Procesos. 1965-1975
Curador: Rodrigo Alonso

The exhibition Systems, Actions and Processes. 1965-1975 will expose the richness of the art practices that appeared in the period signalled, through the inclusion of a group of artistic productions that can be placed in the intersection between minimalism, art povera, conceptualism, media art, process creations, performance and system art. The exhibition will reflect upon a moment in which aesthetic categories proved insufficient to characterize the wideness and diversity of such productions.
The show will highlight the work of some Argentinean and Latin American artists. At the same time, the dialogue between reflexive and pragmatic texts published in this period enable the viewer to reconstruct the intellectual context for the comprehension of these productions. The exhibition catalogue will present documents, books, magazines and catalogues from the period, as well as a selection of key theoretical texts.

About the building
Located in and old 19th century house, in the neighborhood of La Boca, since 1996, Fundación Proa inaugurates its new building in November 2008.
Its new three-storey building, which features four exhibition rooms, a multimedia auditorium, a specialized library, a restaurant and terrace, as well as dynamic spaces open to the public and a transparent façade that enables the communication of experiences from the inside towards the neighborhood. The project and management of the works were in charge of the Caruso-Torricella Studio in Milan, the same that ten years ago transformed the old building into an iconic landmark for contemporary art in Buenos Aires.
