A talk by Doug Allanson on the philosophical basis for Steiner's work in exploring the spiritual world; a response to Descartian dualism, at the Kingston Philosophy Café. Kingston Philosophy Café is a series of events, not a place. It currently meets twice a month: on Thursday evenings at Bridges café, Kingston riverside, with discussions beginning at 6.00pm and ending at around 7.25; and on Wednesday evenings at the Ram Jam Club, Grey Horse pub, Richmond Road, starting at 7.00pm and ending at 9.00. From 15th of May to 2nd of October Järna becomes the stage of the unique event SEE! COLOUR! Presenting four parallel exhibitions spread over the entire campus including numerous lectures, guided tours, workshops, movies, conferences and events. All of this will take place in and around Kulturhuset in Järna, Sweden. James Turrell, one of the world’s leading artists working with the theme of light, colour and space, will create a number of large installations. There will also be an exhibition on Goethe’s Colour Theory with interactive colour experiments and a series of outdoor colour installations in the garden. Paintings from Hilma af Klint, the increasingly well renowned Swedish artist, will be displayed in addition to a selection of Rudolf Steiner’s original blackboard drawings, one of them shown for the first time ever. The architecture of Ytterjärna provides the perfect setting, as it is in itself a colour experience.
