The Ephemeral

Group exhibition with works by:
Absalon, Moridja Kitenge Banza , Joseph Beuys, Sophie Calle, Joe Coleman, Hanne Darboven, Wim Delvoye, Rebecca Horn, Mathilde ter Heijne, Jannis Kounellis, Heinz Mack, David Noonan, Henk Peeters, Jackson Pollock, Julian Rosefeldt, Matt Saunders, Chiharu Shiota, Miroslav Tichý, Grazia Toderi, Susan Turcot, Franz West, Nick van Woert, Yang Jiechang
The experience of art is as brief as each passing instant. The encounter with a work is new in every
moment, constantly revealing fresh dimensions and changing over the piece's lifetime. This
transience stands in opposition to a vision of art as creating eternal values and capturing a timeless
meaning. Yet though these two conceptions of time and art may appear paradoxical, they can be
reconciled in the belief that only art which is valid over time can present itself to the viewer anew in
every moment.

Swiss parliament to discuss cow horns

In biodynamic and organic agriculture it is held that animals should be left as they are. The removal of the horns of cows is not allowed in farming which follows the Demeter guidelines; they stipulate that cows must be allowed to keep their horns. The founder of biodynamic agriculture, Rudolf Steiner, pointed out as long ago as 1924 in a lecture at the Koberwitz estate in Silesia that horns should be considered as an important organ and that they were connected with the metabolism.

Two seminal artists in contemporary art, two influential teachers that left their mark on an entire generation of artists: the exhibition "Beuys and Beyond – Teaching as Art," now making its guest appearance in Sao Paulo, shows Joseph Beuys and his students in a dialogue with Nelson Leirner and the important artists the "Old Master" of the Brazilian scene has taught. "Beuys and Beyond" is the third major exhibition of works from the Deutsche Bank Collection to tour through renowned Latin American museums. The project combines two themes that are of key importance to Deutsche Bank’s social commitment—art and the teaching of creativity.
