A talk by Christopher Houghton Budd

What is the true nature of today's financial markets? Are they in fact markets, or are they mirrors of human behaviour? Is the global financial crisis about money or a step-change in human consciousness?
Author of Finance at the Threshold - rethinking the real and financial economies (Gower 2011), Christopher is an economic and monetary historian with a doctorate in banking and international finance, who travels widely as an educator and consultant. Combining both business and academic backgrounds, his experience ranges widely from 'green' and 'sustainable' economics to central banking and financial markets.
Working under the rubric of 'associative economies', he has been a life¬long student of Rudolf Steiner's works, especially his insights into the working of modern finance. Christopher is a Visiting Lecturer at City University and is currently devising a course that aims to bring a deeper understanding of money, to young people especially.
Sponsored by Bath Anthroposophical Group Commemorating Rudolf Steiner's 150th Anniversary.
