What a joy it is to find a readily available source of videos of Beuys actions, interviews and programmes.
One of the first programmes on Beuys I recall seeing in England was the BBC Arena documentary 'Joseph Beuys - A Portrait' shown in 1987. This is included in the many videos now viewable on Beuystv who desribe it as: One of the best films about the life and work of the great german artist Joseph Beuys (1921-1986). By his close friend Caroline Tisdall. From his early works to his last work "Palazzo Regale" (BBC Arena, 1987, 58 min.). I tend to agree.
Very regretfully, since writingthis article I have learned that this particular video has been blocked by Youtube, BUT there are still many, many great videos to watch, so do take a look http://www.youtube.com/user/beuystv
