At the Museum of contemporary art of Perugia (Italy) a multimedia exhibition curated by Martino Nicoletti
Taking inspiration form the collection of Joseph Beuys’s “blackboards” – created in 1980 during a visit to Perugia and currently hosted at the Palazzo della Penna Museum of contemporary art – the exhibition enlightens about the most shamanic elements characterising the work and the thought of the German master.
In a close interaction with the Beuys’s “blackboards”, the exhibition – the first worldwide event devoted to this peculiar subject – presents a large set of photographs, ritual objects, videos and multimedia artistic installations by Martino Nicoletti, directly related to the visionary universe of Himalayan shamanism.

The exhibition is moreover enriched by the presence of a series of scattered fragments related to Beuys’s performances and visual works, as well as by a selected number of artworks of international contemporary visual artists as Alessandra Campoli and Slobodan Dan Paich.
The exhibition, curated by the ethnologist and artist Martino Nicoletti (University of the West of Scotland, UK), is officially promoted by the Municipality of Perugia with the support of the Regional Council of Umbria.
