24th September Terry Boardman
"And never the twain shall meet....”? Crisis and Opportunity as the Centenary of 1914 Looms.
Is the present conflict in Libya but a proxy struggle, an opening move in the conflict between the USA and China that may come to dominate the next decades? How can the rest of us avoid being caught in a vice between these two Powers?
Terry Boardman is a writer and translator
15th October Judyth Sassoon
Goethe's way of science: An offering and a deed
Since Francis Bacon first advocated the “inquisition” of Nature, the need to dissect, fragment and compartmentalize has spread to all sectors of life. Goethe's scientific methodology offers an alternative to this potentially dangerous way of understanding the world.
Dr. Judyth Sassoon is a Research Fellow at Bristol University.
29th October Susan Raven
Climate Change and the Elemental Kingdom
Susan will be exploring the links between the movements of the planets, the power of human thought forms, the activity of the elemental beings and the influence of the spiritual hierarchies on our climate.
Susan has spent the last 12 years living in the remote hills of mid-Wales, deepening her perception of the elemental kingdom and honing her skills as a singer/songwriter.
26th November Philip Martyn
From Eternity to Eternity
Philip will consider the human being's journey from the spiritual world to life on earth and returning to the spiritual world with its reflections and preparation for the next life.
Philip Martyn is joint General Secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in Great Britain
17th December John Lees
Manicheanism and psychological development
The current materialistic age has led to an increase in psychological distress. We can fruitfully respond to this situation from the point of view of the future form of Manicheanism, as discussed by Rudolf Steiner. The workshop will consist of a talk, dialogue and experiential work.
John Lees is an academic at the University of Leeds and an anthroposophic psychotherapist.
